Something for everyone!
Maison Penfra is situated in the middle of open countryside in the department of Morbihan. This region has over 800km of fine sandy beaches, rugged coastlines, rivers and estuaries.
You can take a walk, or cycle, beside beautiful lakes, through forests, along the Nantes-Brest canal with its many locks, or saunter through medieval cities and towns like Malestroit and Rochefort-en-Terre.
The area is steeped in history and legend. The splendid castle of Josselin, on the River Oust, is well worth a visit. Or, just a short drive away, the inland forest of La Broceliande is an ideal place to learn about the stories of King Arthur. In Carnac you can can go right back in time as you walk through the many hundreds of prehistoric megaliths.

The well-preserved medieval centre of Vannes, a 40 minute car ride from Ploermel, has great appeal with its half-timbered houses, shops and bars. And, in the Gulf of Morbihan you can take a boat to Belle-Ile-en-Mer, or walk along the Cote Sauvage from Quiberon, with its wild scenery and panoramic views.
Surfers, climbers, divers and fishermen are also drawn to the clear waters and natural beauty of this coast.
